MadCap's Game Reviews - "The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon"

Well, goodness me! Two game reviews after a year long hiatus from them? Yeah, don't celebrate too hard, I probably have one more of these in me for a bit before game reviewer me gets put back into hibernation for a while.

Try not to weep.

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Pokémon Scarlet and Violet"

Wow, been a while since we were here, huh? Over a year, in fact. And I still have to review that other DLC for The Outer Worlds that I've been meaning to get to...

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Prey"

Spooky! In! SPAAAAAAAAAACE!

So, you know that annoying feeling when you wake up in the morning and find out you're in the year 2032? Right? Absolutely sucks!

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Doki Doki Literature Club!"

Y'know, because my last attempt at playing a visual novel went so swimmingly...

No, I'm still not a fan of the visual novel genre. Hatoful Boyfriend didn't sell me on it, even if I found the game itself completely incomprehensible and bizarre. So, certainly, my opinion will change with a nice, wholesome dating sim that definitely doesn't have any-OH MY GAAAAAAAWD! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUR FAAAAAAAAAACE?!

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Temple Run"

Now I know what you're thinking. "Mobile games? Mobile games? C'mon, Madcap! You don't do a Game Review since your big ol' 10th Anniversary back in May, leaving everyone hanging and breaking your week format for said anniversary date, and the best that you come up with is a mobile game?

Well thank you for your concern, voices in my head, but it is my blog.

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Hatoful Boyfriend"

. . .okay, so this is weird.

I don't usually go into visual novels. I acknowledge the medium as fulfilling the minimum requirements to be a game, but that's honestly as far as it goes for me. I don't have anything against them, they just aren't for me. However, Tina very strongly suggested that I do this (and I can also blame @KainYusanagi for this as well, being the perpetrator of the original reference).

So, will Hatoful Boyfriend change my mind on visual novels? Let's take a look!

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Pokémon Sword and Shield"

Alright, so I admittedly might be on a bit of a kick of late.

Yes, it's another game in the Pokémon franchise as if there weren't enough commentary on the subject available not only on this very blog, but from pretty much everyone and their mother across the internet and even in the dark era before we had the internet.

. . .so here's yet another bit of knowledge.

MadCap's Game Reviews - "I Wanna Be The Guy"

Ah, the joys of the early 2000's. Back in the time when sites like Newgrounds or Kongregate ruled the internet with a wide variety of movies and games created in that long remembered and beloved program Adobe Flash animation. I actually got the chance to play around with Flash in high school. My hat goes off to those men and women who used this thing to create some fantastic animation and games. . .but I took an entire course on that in school and I still could not tell you how to work that thing.

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge"

Another Game Boy port? Oh, c'mon! Before you start panicking, this isn't the same Castlevania II as Castlevania II, but I can see where you might think that.

Castlevania II is...well, I was gonna say much better, but...it's not. I mean, it is...but...well, you'll see.

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Castlevania The Adventure"

Box art looks cool. That's about it.
In every series, there is a dud.

Out of the several that the Castlevania series has, this is one of them.

This is Castlevania The Adventure!

Yes, I know what the box says and I know what the "official title" says. I don't care, this is how the game presents it, so this is what I'm going with. Deal with it.

MadCap's Game Reviews - "Super Castlevania IV"

I meant to get to this last year, but life unfortunately got in the way. There are officially more Castlevania games than there are planets in the sky by this point. Out of all of those astounding adventures brought to us by Konami...this is one of them.

Don't react angrily too quick, it's also my personal favorite besides Symphony of the Night, the first Castlevania game I ever reviewed back into 2012. Y'know, when I knew nothing about editing!

Amazing how times haven't changed, huh?

MadCap's Game Reviews - "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King"

Yep. Another Electronic Arts game. Another one by Redwood Shores (aka Visceral Games). Unlike The Third Age, however, this is less of a role-playing game in the Final Fantasy style and more of a hack and slash in the style of Gauntlet. In fact, the developers even referred to it as such when hyping the game up. It features the voices of (almost) all of the actors involved, assets taken directly from the films themselves, and has received extreme positive reviews from both fans and critics alike.

But I know what you're all thinking, is it good?
