MadCap's Mad Ranting - "No More Skyrim DLC? NOT OKAY!!!"

This, just this.  Let's just talk about how this is not okay. This is not right. This is not what we were promised.

I'm back by the way, hello!  And now, onto my angrish ranting on this matter. With Skyrim, we were promised by Bethesda more content in DLCs though there were be less quantity. As in, fewer DLCs but more to them. No two DLCs and giving up the ghost on it. And despite your claims that "We’ve invested so much of ourselves into Skyrim and will never truly say goodbye to it", that's exactly what you're doing! A few updates every so often is not "never truly saying goodbye", it's brushing off the last specks of dirt before you leave it to acquire dust.

Now, don't think I'm going to stupidly rant about how they should just keep it going on forever and just push out new DLC every six months or so. Because that's just impractical under normal circumstances - and with what we've seen with certain DLCs they have for this game that I won't name but will call Gawnduard - as well as just ending up costing more for Bethesda than they would actually make for it. I accept that completely.  My problems is when they claim to be doing something completely different from what you did with Oblivion (that is to say, Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles) and then doing the exact same thing with Skyrim.

No, that's being too generous.  Because at least with Oblivion you gave other DLCs that, while they may have just been there for aesthetics, were actually something. What did you give us with Skyrim? Hearthfire.

...yeah, you really ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

But really, all we got was Dawnguard and Dragonborn.  Admittedly, both were very good. They had problems, of course.  Like Dawnguard's ability to get onto PS3 and Dragonborn's major gimmick of the carousel dragons which you should be far less proud of than you are.  But they were two DLCs that mirrored their predecessors.  Dawnguard added new areas to the already existing map, like Knights of the Nine did, and Dragonborn opened up a brand old new area for us to explore like Shivering Isles did.  I don't know if you guys got the memo, but the objective of a sequel is to do more not less.

And don't tell me you can't do that, because I've played Fallout: New Vegas and you guys had six add-ons for that.  Six.  And granted, two of them were just added weapons, but all four of the others had their own storylines (some better than others) and brand new areas to root around through.  Are you telling me you can do that for the child you won the custody battle for, but not your flagship series?  Really?!

All things considered, I feel...well...

Maybe not that strongly, but really, Bethesda, this just isn't okay. It isn't what you promised.  You stopped with even less than you did with Oblivion and said "That'll do just fine."  And had you said you were going to do that from the beginning, I could deal with it.  But really, this is just sad.
